Red Wine

Do you enjoy drinking Red Wine? Chill, it’s okay to admit. Most of us enjoy that amazingly good red drink. You will be happy to learn, if red wine is consumed in a moderate amount that means about a glass a day — has some awesome perks. Here, we bring to you awesome reasons to say cheers to Red wine and good health. Take a brief pause and know how a glass of wine a day keeps the doctor away.

Healthy Glowing Skin
Red wine and beauty, really? Yes, Wine is great for a healthy glowing skin. It contains antioxidants that protects the skin and prevents it from ageing.

Protects from Disease
Another benefit of this magical red wine is that-it reduces chances of having a stroke, heart attack, bowel, diabetes, aero-digestive cancer as well as other diseases too; it is also good for the brain and increases longevity. In short, it is no less than an elixir of life.

Gives Good Sleep
Not just this! Red wine can give you a peaceful sleep too due to the presence of a substance called melatonin that stimulates body clock. So consume a moderate amount of red wine – 50 to 100 ml before bedtime for a happy and peaceful sleep.

Controls Weight
Wine (seriously, wine!) can help keep your weight in check. It raises the body temperature (one reason some people get red cheeks when drinking), thus boosting calorie-burning and controlling weight.

Prevents Tooth Decay
But that’s not all, red wine also prevents gum disease, and even helps to treat it by reducing inflammation in the gums.

Over-consumption of any alcoholic drink is linked to health risks, and this holds true for red wine too. But having a glass of red wine along with a healthy diet and exercise can be a marker for a healthier lifestyle. 🙂 So limit your red wine consumption to no more than 24 ounces per day and enjoy healthy life.

But this time, your friends would like to be at your place for the party. You’re also excited about the party and want to throw a party that your friends remember forever. But you are a bit nervous as you’ve never thrown a cocktail party before at home. Worry not! You just need to learn the social rules of how to store, serve and enjoy wine to make party a big hit. Here we go –

As you know lighter white wines are great to serve before dinner. But serving them at the right temperature is essential.  The temperature at which you store and serve wine can alter the chemistry of the wine. The basic rule that goes with wines is “Serve Reds Warm and Whites Cold”. Red wine loses its acidic taste if served warmer than 65 degrees. Cold wines tend to lose flavors at around 45 degrees.

Always uncork the bottle about an hour before you drink. The quality diminishes if a bottle is left open at room temperature for long.

To choose right wine glasses is another aspect of wine etiquette that you must follow. Ensure your wine glasses are plain and transparent, made of crystal or glass. This allows you to appreciate the wine’s color in them. Wine Glasses must have a stem to hold. This avoids the heat of your hands to warm the wine.

Another point you must make a note of is filling the glass precisely. Never fill a wine glass to the brim. Fill white wine glasses one-half full, red wine glasses one-third full, and sparkling wines such as champagne, about three-quarters full.

Proper pour is also significant. Pour sparkling wines gently, so that bubbles of wines are preserved. And, pour the wine in the center of the glass to enable the aroma float upwards.

Hope, you are now perfectly set to welcome your guests! No matter what, your guests are undoubtedly going to have a great time and appreciate the thought you put into serving wines. So, raise a glass and toast. Cheers!
