Having your favorite cocktail but are you having it in the right glass?

23 08 2016

Through old times, cocktail has been served in a particular manner. There is always a right glass for the right drink but with changing times of mix and match, this trend has also changed.

Come let us help you identify some of the glasses that are commonly used although now alternatives come in various shapes and sizes.

1. Wine glass As the name suggests, these glasses are typically made to serve wine in them. The long stick at the end is what one is supposed to hold so that the drink doesn’t warm up quickly. This holds a typical volume of 250 to 300 ml / 8.8 to 10.6 Oz.

2. Margarita glass– This Margarita bearer is also called as a “cocktail glass”. These glasses carry a volume of 250 ml / 8.8 Oz which are again to be held from the stick.

Cosmopolitan

3. Champagne flute– The slim elegant glass holds a capacity of 200 ml / 7.0 Oz of best quality champagne. The tall shape of the glass prevents the drink from going flat too fast. Also, it prevents the bubbles from rising upwards giving the best visual effects.

4. Martini glass– Also called as “Martini Saucer” makes the drink look royal. Martini can be poured in it easily due to the broad opening but this may even cause you problem on the dance floor where it can easily spill out. It can carry a volume of 250ml / 8.8 Oz.

Blue Lagoon

5. Shot glass The drinks in these glasses are supposed to be swallowed in a single gulp. They are small glasses with a little capacity of 25 ml or 50 ml / 0.9 to 1.8 Oz.
